Where Are They Now? Season 4

Where Are They Now? Season 4

AKA: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

This season is what sold me on sticking with the show through bad years or not. I instantly LOVED Carrie Underwood and remember exactly the first time they showed us a snippet of Bo Bice. It was Hollywood week and I literally sat up and hit rewind. So if we had to put up with some 'sausage boys ( scott savol and Mikalah Gordons) then so be it, because we got Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood and for those who love Constantine, he is still around too. So let's see where they are now:

#12:
Lindsey Cardinale : good

Cardinale appeared at Ponchatoula's Strawberry Festival shortly after her elimination where she thanked her hometown for their contributions that helped her place twelfth out of hundreds of thousands of auditions. However, her contract with 19 Entertainment prevented her from singing at the fair, so she played the drums instead. A year later at the festival, on April 8, 2006, Cardinale put on an hour-long show of cover tunes and two original songs. Cardinale is the model and spokesperson for the Bill Hood Automotive Family in Southern Louisiana. She is preparing to start work in Nashville with Grammy Award-winning record producer Paul Jackson on her debut album. She currently has a maxi single out featuring the songs "Drive" and "Nothin' Like a Dream."

In late 2007, it was announced that Lindsey had signed with Aria Records Nashville. Her name has since been removed from their website and it appears that Aria Records has released Cardinale from her contract.

#11
Mikalah Gordon : goodGordon landed a guest-starring role on Fran Drescher's new sitcom, Living with Fran. Following an appearance on the February 24, 2006 episode of The Tyra Banks Show, Tyra Banks hired her as a Tyra Show correspondent. Mikalah is also the Co-Host of American Idol Extra, which gives a behind the scenes look at American Idol after the taping each week. Mikalah is currently in the early stages of producing an album.

On August 23, 2006, Mikalah was assaulted in Las Vegas during a robbery at gunpoint at 3:30 a.m near Nellis Boulevard and Washington Avenue. Her mother, Victoria Cavaricci, said "Police said she's so lucky she's alive."

During March 2007, Mikalah along with her cocompetitor Lindsey Cardinale, upcoming country singer Stephen Cochran, and the God warrior Margarite Perrin, judged the small production of Amateur Idol in the small town of Loranger, Louisiana. Mikalah was a hit with the small town community and frequently visits. Gordon currently lives in Los Angeles, California. Different things I have come across on the web have her doing all sorts of projects, so we haven't seen the last of this girl.

#10
Jessica Sierra : bad and the ugly :(

Sierra is from Tampa, Florida, and auditioned in Orlando. She was also a contestant on Star Search before auditioning for Idol, and was a nanny. Sierra started singing in church at the age of 3. As a teenager, she performed for Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush in singing and dancing ensembles. She first auditioned for Idol in the second season, but was rejected.

Sierra dated fellow American Idol 4 contestant, Nikko Smith for several months. In an April 2006 article in the Tennessean, Sierra confirmed the relationship but said the two broke up shortly after New Year's 2007.

And I guess since her singing career didn't pan, she hasn't made the best decisions. This is her mug shot from earlier this year. Rehab kicked her out I guess. I didn't really read the entire article, but it does make me sad when people choose long hard roads.

#9
Nikko Smith : goodNikko was the contestant that replaced Mario Vazquez when Mario dropped out.

Guess Mario didn't need 19 Entertainment...it was reported that Vazquez had signed with record executive Clive Davis and Davis' Arista Records. Vazquez's self-titled album was released September 26, 2006 by Arista Records. The album debuted at #80 with 12,000 sold, falling out of the Top 200 within two weeks. Vazquez attributed his departure from American Idol due to his need to control the "sound" that he has worked on since he was 13 years old. He felt that American Idol wasn't going to give him that. In an interview about American Idol Season 5, Vazquez also attributed his early departure from American Idol as a way to prevent himself from being labeled as a top 12 contestant – he did not want a "number", felt that since he was now known worldwide as a semi-finalist (which was better than not being known at all), he could end the competition and go solo. He believed that his musical success would not make a difference whether he quit as a semi-finalist or participated in the finals round. Unfortunately for Vasquez, this success has not come in the form of CD sales as he stands as the third lowest selling American Idol contestant, in front of Corey Clark who was disqualified and Ayla Brown who did not make it to the finals, and behind even William Hung. Later that year, Vazquez performed on the Cartoon Network Friday block on August 25, 2006. A second single "One Shot" was released to radio in February 2007 after 10 months of relying only on the first single to promote the album.

but back to Nikko.....he is the son of Baseball Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith, is currently working on an album entitled The Revolution. On 26 October 2006 Smith performed the American national anthem prior to Game 4 of the World Series, at the home field of the St Louis Cardinals for whom his father had played 15 seasons.

#8
Nadia Turner : goodSince exiting American Idol, Nadia Turner has made guest appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Tony Danza Show[1] and served as a guest host on The View in December, 2006. Nadia Turner has performed and hosted many charities and big events.... yeah, other big events, she is working that is the point right?

In 2008, her single "Standing On Love" is part of the Edy's SlowChurned Icecream promotional CD "Hot Tracks" available for free with icecream purchasing at participating stores, that also includes another 7 tracks from former Idol performers. It was also released as a single with another song, "Beautiful Man."

#7
Anwar Robinson : good
Robinson has completed an album of cover songs entitled "The Truth (About Love)". A CD sampler was previously available from his fan site. http://www.anwarriors.com/

Then, he began working on original material for his second album, "The Truth II", according to his MySpace. Also, Anwar lent his voice to the project, InSPIRATION, a collection of inspirational songs composed by Reverend Nolan Williams, Jr. which was released in 2006. Anwar also had the opportunity to serve as the Vice-Chairperson of the "Celebrity Read Program" for the United Way of West Essex and Hudson Counties in New Jersey during the 2007 term.

Recently, Anwar took on the role of "Collins" in the 2007-2008 National/International Tour of Jonathan Larson's iconic Rock Opera, RENT. In addition to the RENT Tour, Anwar has made his film debut in Renowned Director/Writer/Actor Maurice Jamal's The Ski Trip 2: Friends and Lovers as "Owen". The film debuted on July 13, 2008 at the Fairfax Regency Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Moreover, during the final week of the RENT tour, Anwar was allowed to leave the tour for one night to debut with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in the Prudential Hall of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) on June 25, 2008. This was a fundraising concert for the 13th Annual Community Partners and was conducted by the renowned Maestro Thomas Wilkins.

#6
Constantine Maroulis : ugly
Personally I can't stand this guy, he seriously creeps me out, over dramatic, but I respect that he has fans. Just not my cup of tea, but he knows what he wants in life, I will give him that. Less than a week before his elimination, Maroulis's pre-Idol band, Pray For The Soul Of Betty, announced the May 10 release of their self-titled debut on their label, Baby Julius. On March 20, 2006, Maroulis announced his departure with the band due to creative and business differences.

In August, 2006, Constantine completed a solo tour of 13 cities throughout the Northeast, where he debuted material to be featured on his upcoming CD, including various self-penned compositions. On August 7th, 2007 Constantine released his 2-years-in-the-making CD with 12 tracks. Maroulis' self-titled CD Constantine (album) debuted at #75 on the Billboard charts. Constantine embarked on another solo tour across the eastern U.S. in February 2008, playing to sold-out venues in various cities including Boston, Philadelphia, New York, and Annapolis.

Maroulis joined the cast of the CBS daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful on May 15, 2007 for a limited run as Constantine Parros, a singer and record producer. He signed a 13-week contract. In February 2008, Maroulis appeared in a reading of Eric Sanders, playwright's play "It's a Dry Heat" at Playwrights Horizons, opposite Tony Award-nominee Isabel Keating and Gillian Jacobs. March 2008 saw Maroulis joining the cast of American Idol Extra as cohost, along with fellow Idol alumni Gina Glocksen and J.D. Roberto, broadcast on the Fox Reality Channel. On October 24, 2007, US Weekly reported that Maroulis is currently dating '80s pop singer Debbie Gibson, although Maroulis says they are just friends.

#5
Scott Savol :bad
During the American Idol competition, The Smoking Gun reported that Savol had been charged with misdemeanor assault for hitting his girlfriend and mother of his son, Michele Martin, with a telephone on February 14, 2001 so hard that the phone broke. Savol pled the charge down to disorderly conduct, for which he received probation and was ordered to complete a domestic abuse or anger management class; his girlfriend received a temporary restraining order against him. Idol producers said that Savol had already disclosed this incident to them and that "considering Scott's honesty and his remorse, the situation did not warrant his disqualification."

The fact that Savol outlasted many singers who were often considered superior to him (such as Nikko Smith, Nadia Turner, and Anwar Robinson) led many commentators to speculate that a portion of Savol's "fan base" actually consisted of people who were attempting to destroy the credibility of American Idol by voting for someone they considered the worst finalist. Other people suggested Savol was supported by Christian voters because Savol frequently thanked God after his performances, or by voters who saw him as an underdog or "regular Joe" due to his lack of stereotypical pop star looks. Often, he would draw comparisons to actors Mark Addy and Kevin James. He was affectionately dubbed "Scotty the Body" by Idol host Ryan Seacrest.

Not sure if they are still married, I couldn't find much current on him, but this was his wedding picture from his post Idol wedding sometime around 2006 or 2007.

#4
Anthony Fedorov : good
Although he finished in fourth place on American Idol, polls on the American Idol website after the fact showed Fedorov to be the second-most popular contestant of the season, behind only the winner, Carrie Underwood. In June 2006, Fedorov finished in second place as a contestant on a special Reality TV edition of NBC's Fear Factor along with American Idol season 2 finalist Carmen Rasmusen. He also appeared in four episodes of MTV’s Little Talent Show — Triple Threat, which aired starting on September 26, 2006.

Fedorov took the leading role of "Matt" in the off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks starting May 1, 2007 at the Snapple Theater Center in New York City and he is also working on his debut album.

After the September 2006 death of his brother Denis, Anthony became a national spokesperson for the Sarcoma Foundation of America. He performed at SFA’s annual gala, held May 21, 2007 in New York City. His song "Deep Within My Heart" (written by him) appeared on Dreyer's Hot Tracks promotional CD, along with songs by 7 other Idol finalists.

Fedorov is fluent in Russian, Ukrainian, and English. After Fedorov was voted off the show, rumors of a relationship between him and Underwood dominated discussions of the season. The rumors were sparked by Underwood's reaction to Fedorov's departure, when she sobbed openly and was seen on-screen saying "I love you" to him Fedorov and Underwood denied the rumors, saying that they had a "brother–sister" relationship. Though such rumors have died down, Fedorov and Underwood remain very close, with Fedorov even accompanying Underwood to the CMA Awards on November 6, 2006.

#3
Vonzell Solomon :good
Vonzell is entertaining at parties and malls in Florida. She could very well have a modeling career as she was told by Tyra Banks. I think she is so beautiful. This is her official website for more information: http://www.officialbabyv.com

#2
Bo Bice: good/ ugly b/c he's been so sick
During the final three performance show, Bice took the enormous risk of performing without the benefit of a band or backup singers. This was the first time in the history of the show that anybody had ever attempted to sing a cappella at this stage in the competition. He sang “In a Dream,” an obscure song recorded by 1990s metal band, Badlands. Throughout the season, Bice had been known for his sweeping command of the stage. This time, however, he stood alone and motionless, his long hair glowing under a single spotlight. His masterful performance was pitch-perfect, and was highly praised by the judges, including Clive Davis who spoke of looking forward to making an album with Bice.

2005 – 2006: The Real Thing
Signed to RCA Records, Bice's first single, released June 21, 2005, was his version of "Inside Your Heaven". The single debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and #1 on the Billboard Hot Single Sales chart. Bice's single replaced Carrie Underwood's version of the same song at #1, the first time in the history of the sales chart. The B-side was his rendition of the Ides of March hit "Vehicle", featuring an appearance by Richie Sambora. It was certified Gold in late July 2005.

On July 31, 2005, Bice broke his foot while performing in concert in Manchester, New Hampshire[7] but carried on with the tour. On August 18 Bice, who had been suffering from stomach pain for months, was rushed to the hospital for emergency intestinal surgery to remove a blockage. He was sidelined from the tour for several shows. During his absence from the tour, fellow contestants Anwar, Nikko, Scott, Anthony and Constantine sang "Sweet Home Alabama" and wore Bo Bice T-shirts. In addition, to playing that concert, he also opened his home in Helena, Alabama to a family displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Also in September, Bice received the Relly Award for "Best Reality Guest" for his earlier appearance on Live with Regis & Kelly.

On October 7, 2005, Bice proudly introduced his own band, SugarMoney, in Mobile, Alabama at Bayfest.

Bice's solo debut album, The Real Thing, was released on December 13, 2005. It opened at #4. The Real Thing has the seventh-highest opening for a debut album by an American Idol finalist; it is also noteworthy that Bo Bice is one of several non-winners (along with Clay Aiken, Josh Gracin, Katharine McPhee, Elliott Yamin, Kellie Pickler, and Chris Daughtry) to achieve good success in record sales.

In February 2006, Bice kicked off a radio promo tour. During the ensuing year of promotional appearances and touring, Bice continued to suffer with the recurring intestinal condition which had not been repaired by the August 2005 surgery. In the span of just a few months during his various tours, Bice was hospitalized 20 times, checking out of the hospitals each time to honor his performance commitments. In March 2006, Bice sang on the American Idol Top 16 Results Show. In April 2006, Bice was one of the celebrity drivers featured in the Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race held in Long Beach, CA, that was sponsored by Toyota to benefit various children's hospitals of Southern California. Bice appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on May 9, 2006. He was the guest host for the The Fairly OddParents episode, Fairy Idol, on May 19, 2006, and continued with his rigorous tour schedule.

In the spring and summer of 2006, Bice began to talk of his hopes for a second CD, saying, for example, "On the next album I'd like to go more rootsy, more country, more southern rock Bo.”[10] On July 21, 2006, a fan at Bo Bice.com asked Bice what fans could do to hear Bo more as he sounded on American Idol than on The Real Thing. He responded that they could start a petition asking Clive Davis for Bo's original southern rock songs on a subsequent CD. A diverse group of fans, the Grassroots Coalition to Hear More Bo, started the online Petition to Hear More Bo, which collected over 5,300 signatures before it was closed February 21, 2007, after word broke that Bice was no longer with RCA. Although the petition had no effect with RCA, it affirmed fan interest in the kind of CD Bice had said he wanted to make, and would eventually release in 2007. Bice was presented with a Gold Record for The Real Thing not long after RCA dropped Bice from its roster. Bice subsequently formed his own record label called Sugar Money/StratArt (in partnership with Strategic Artist Management).

Bo Bice's second album, entitled See the Light was released October 23, 2007 on Bice's Independent label, Sugar Money/StratArt. The CD is available exclusively through Walmart, and digital downloads are available everywhere online. Of this album, Bice said " I picked and co-wrote the songs that if I was a guy who would be spending my hard-earned money buying an album I would want to hear.". Bice has since parted with Strategic Artist Management, and is referring to his record label as "SugarMoney."

Blades of Glory soundtrack CD was released on 3/27/2007; Theatrical Release Date: 03/30/2007; DVD Release Date: 08/28/2007. Bice made several promotional appearances in connection with the releases.

Bice's music video--"Witness" (from his album "See the Light")--spent three consecutive weeks at #1 on VH1 "Top 20 Countdown" in December 2007 to close out the year. During that same period of time, "Witness" was ranked #2 on VH1 Video on Demand, and his "See the Light" was ranked #1 Album on the VH1 site.

After two years of dating, Bice married Caroline Merrin Fisher (1980) on June 15, 2005 in Helena, Alabama. They met in Hoover, Alabama when he was a guitar store clerk and Caroline was a waitress. Fisher had son Aidan Michael Bice on September 24,2005. Second son Caleb James was born on born August 5, 2008. They reside in Nashville.

Season 4 Winner: GREAT!
Carrie Underwood http://www.carrieunderwoodofficial.com/

Her debut album, Some Hearts, was certified seven times platinum and is the fastest selling debut country album in Nielsen SoundScan history. Some Hearts yielded three number one hits on the Billboard Country charts in the United States and Canada: "Jesus, Take the Wheel","Wasted", and her biggest hit to date, "Before He Cheats". Additionally "Don't Forget to Remember Me" topped the charts in Canada. Underwood scored another Top 10 Billboard hit with her charity single, "I'll Stand by You". Some Hearts sold a total of seven million RIAA-certified copies as of February 2008. In addition to being the best selling album by an American Idol contestant in the United States to date, it is also the best-selling solo female debut album in country music history.
Her second album, Carnival Ride, was released on October 23, 2007. It has so far sold about 2.3 million copies and has produced three number one country hits, "So Small", "All-American Girl", and "Last Name". Her current single "Just a Dream" is at #12 on the Billboard "Hot Country Songs" chart. Underwood's Christmas single, "Do You Hear What I Hear?" peaked at #2 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts. Aside from her vocals, Underwood's success is attributed to what many fans recognize as her wholesome image. To date, Underwood has sold over 11 million records worldwide. Underwood was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry on May 10, 2008.

Underwood appeared on the sixth season of American Idol. She sang her single "Wasted" on March 8, marking her fourth time performing on the show since winning the competition in 2005. Underwood also performed at the Idol Gives Back concert singing her new song, "I'll Stand By You", (a cover of the Pretenders hit) along with Kelly Clarkson, Rascal Flatts, and others. Underwood sang the same song at American Idol's season finale on May 23, 2007. Underwood sang "Praying For Time", a former number one for George Michael, during the seventh season American Idol Gives Back mini-marathon. She also came back to perform "Last Name" on May 21, 2008, for the finale of the seventh season of American Idol.

Let's keep this simple. She is amazing and has won a ton of awards and so far ( 9-6-08) the most sucessful Idol. Waiting to see how far David Cook goes. I think he'll be up there too, but as far as Carrie's awards:
On November 21, 2006, Underwood went into the American Music Awards with 2 nominations, that night she left the building winning the Breakthrough Artist of the Year award. She was also nominated for Best Female Country Artist, but did not win in that category. She also attended the "2006 Billboard Music Awards" On December 4, 2006, and took home 5 awards. She won the coveted Album of the Year, Top 200 Female Artist of the Year, Female Country Artist, New Country Artist, and Country Album of the Year. Underwood was nominated for five Academy of Country Music awards in 2007. She was nominated for Best Female Vocalist, Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Album of the Year and Single Record of the Year. She won three of her nominated categories; Album of the Year, Video of the Year, and Female Vocalist of the Year.
On April 11, 2007, Underwood continued her success of top 2 Country singles with the release of "Wasted". The song peaked at number 1 on the Hot Country Songs Chart, and number 37 on the Billboard Hot 100. The music video for Wasted debuted at number 2 on the GACTV Top 20 Countdown. At the 2007 CMT Awards in Nashville, Tennessee on April 16, Underwood was nominated for three awards, including Video of the Year, Female Video of the Year, and Video Director of the Year, all for "Before He Cheats." She won in all of the three categories. She also performed there, singing "Before He Cheats".

In early April, Underwood took a break from working on her second album to take a trip to South Africa for American Idol's "Idol Gives Back" charity special. A music video package from her trip aired on the show April 25. Underwood recorded an acoustic version of The Pretenders' classic "I'll Stand By You," which served as the music bed for this American Idol video package. The charity single of the song released exclusively on iTunes reached the #2 spot. Underwood also appeared in Brad Paisley's latest album, 5th Gear, on a song entitled "Oh Love" (co-written by Gordie Sampson, Hillary Lindsey and Aimee Mayo). Aside from those activities, she also performed "Before He Cheats" and "Wasted" at the CMA Music Festival.

On August, 2008, "Jesus, Take the Wheel" was reported to have been sold more than 1 million ringtones and was certified Platinum, making Carrie the first country artist ever to have two songs hit Platinum Mastertone status (together with "Before He Cheats", which has been certified earlier in 2007.

Carnival Ride

Underwood's second album, Carnival Ride, was released on October 23, 2007. "So Small", the first single from the album, was released on July 31.[20] On Carnival Ride, Underwood was more involved in the songwriting process than on the debut; she set up a writers retreat at Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium to collaborate with such Music Row tunesmiths as Hillary Lindsey, Craig Wiseman, Rivers Rutherford, Tom Wehrle and Gordie Sampson. Carnival Ride was certified double platinum as of December 14, 2007.

Underwood made her film debut in singing voice only, performing a song entitled "Ever Ever After" for the Disney movie Enchanted. In the music video for the song she appears as both animated and live action, much like the characters in the movie. Underwood's name was also mentioned in the Disney Channel series, "Hannah Montana." She appeared on Christmas at Rockefeller Center on November 28, 2007. She also appeared on the holiday CD Hear Something Country Christmas 2007 that featured many other country artists, with a rendition of "Do You Hear What I Hear?". Since then, the song has reached #2 on the AC Chart, and held it for 3 consecutive weeks, making her best AC hit to date.

In January 2008, Underwood embarked on a joint tour with Keith Urban named the Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Carnival Ride Tour, with dates fixed nationwide to continue through April. On March 15, 2008, during a performance at the Grand Ole Opry House, Underwood was invited by Randy Travis, who snuck up on her as she was finishing her her version of Travis' song "I Told You So", to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry.[27] She was inducted by Garth Brooks during the May 10, 2008 edition of the Opry at the Grand Ole Opry House. At the age of 25, she is currently the youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Her latest single, "Just a Dream" was released on July 21, 2008.

Underwood is a vegetarian and stopped consuming meat at the age of 13 as she couldn't stand the thought of eating one of her own animals. She was voted "World's Sexiest Vegetarian" by PETA . A native of eastern Oklahoma, she co-wrote a song dedicated to her hometown, "I Ain't in Checotah Anymore".

Underwood performed at halftime of the 2006 Thanksgiving Day football game at Texas Stadium in Irving, TX and was friends with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
Since August 2007, she had been dating Chace Crawford of Gossip Girl fame. Though according to recent reports, the two have recently broken up for good.

"rehab kicked her out I guess..."

Bad guess.

Jessica has been in rehab for almost a year and is reportedly doing really well. She was also doing fairly well career wise prior to her drug related problems. She did, for example, perform for troops overseas prior to Carrie or Bo doing so. Sadly, she seems to have thrown that all away with the drug stuff, but sobriety may bring her new, positive opportunities. She has a great voice; I hope she makes something of it.
